For those of you who have been following me on Facebook, you know that I am a little obsessed (not in a bad way) with Manger, a blog that beautifully depicts Mimi Thorisson’s culinary expertise and her picturesque life in Médoc. One of her recent posts was a recipe for Brioche à la fleur d’oranger, and since Jules absolutely adores brioche, I figured I would try my hand at it. This is probably one of the only times I have ever made a leavened bread (patience to let something rise is usually something I don’t have).
Luckily, the bulk of the rising happens overnight, so I put it to bed and it was ready to work with the next morning. I was very happy with the way that it turned out, and so was Jules…as it was gone very shortly afterwards! Now I will only have to resort to buying pre-made brioche at La Boulange when he has a major craving for it and I don’t have the time to make it.
